Freelance Social Media Editor

Full Job Description
Wild Sky Media, located in the historic Woolworth Building in downtown New York City, is looking for a Freelance Social Media Editor. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who has had experience in the digital media industry. We are a web based site with a focus on motherhood and child rearing.
Qualifications:
  • At least 2-3+ years of experience with social media platforms (writing for social media - teasers/headlines - experience with social scheduling tools and/or basic analytics)
  • Knowledge of how to operate social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube)
  • Knowledge of content management systems, like Wordpress
  • Previous position in social media at a media outlet preferred

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a point of contact for editors on headlines, copy, thumbnails and other social content standards according to internal guidelines. Communicate with editors on content trending in real-time
  • Social copywriting and copyediting for Instagram and Facebook stories and video
  • Curating 40-50 pieces of content per day based on Google Analytics and social platform performance as part of daily cross-promotion and weekend scheduling to drive traffic and engagement
  • Curating user generated content daily from other Instagram accounts and reaching out for reposting
  • Daily SEO content and keyword research to support editors writing specifically for search
  • Work closely with the Social Strategy Manager to determine social posting priorities
